Privacy Policy — LinkedIn Notes & Reminders

1) Overview

“LinkedIn Notes & Reminders” is a Chrome extension that lets you attach private notes, tags, and follow-up reminders to LinkedIn pages you visit (profiles, companies, schools, showcases). This Privacy Policy explains what information the extension processes and how it is handled.

2) Data the extension processes

The extension processes only the minimum data needed to provide its features:

• Content you provide: notes you type and tags you type.
• LinkedIn page information: the URL of the LinkedIn page where you save a note/tag and a label for the page (e.g., the name/title shown on the page header) used to help you recognize saved items.
• Reminders: the reminder date/time you set and the LinkedIn page URL to open when a reminder triggers.
• Local preferences: UI preferences such as the position/visibility of the on-page notes panel.

3) Where your data is stored

All extension data is stored locally on your device using Chrome’s extension storage. The extension does not require you to create an account.

4) Data sharing

The extension does not sell, rent, or share your extension data with third parties. It does not send your notes/tags/reminders to a developer-controlled server.

5) What the extension does not collect

The extension is not designed to collect:

• Passwords or authentication credentials
• Payment or financial information
• Health information
• Personal communications (e.g., email, chat messages)

6) Permissions used

The extension requests certain Chrome permissions to function:

• Storage (to save notes/tags/reminders locally)
• Alarms (to schedule reminders)
• Notifications (to show reminder notifications)
• Access to LinkedIn pages (to display the notes UI and detect the current LinkedIn page)

7) Your controls (export & deletion)

You can:

• Delete saved data by removing notes for a specific LinkedIn page
• Reset all saved notes and reminders from the extension’s Options page
• Export saved notes/tags/reminders (CSV) from the Options page

Uninstalling the extension also removes its locally stored data.

8) Security

Your data is stored locally in your browser profile. Protecting access to your device and browser profile helps protect your saved notes.

9) Changes to this policy

If the extension’s data practices change, this Privacy Policy will be updated and the “Effective date” will be revised.

Note: If you host this Privacy Policy on GitHub Pages or another website, that hosting provider may log standard server data (such as visitors’ IP addresses) for security and operational purposes.
