1) Overview
“Tab Fridge” is a Chrome extension that helps you save (“freeze”) the current tab with an optional note and a reminder time. When the reminder is due, the extension can notify you so you can reopen the tab at the right moment. This Privacy Policy explains what information the extension processes and how it is handled.
2) Data the extension processes
The extension processes only the minimum data needed to provide its features:
- Tab details you choose to save: the tab URL and page title (used to identify the saved item).
- Content you provide: labels and notes you type in the extension UI.
- Optional selected text: if you enable “save selection”, the extension may store the text you highlighted on the page.
- Reminders: the reminder date/time you set and the saved tab URL to open when a reminder triggers.
3) Where your data is stored
All extension data is stored locally on your device using Chrome’s extension storage
(chrome.storage.local). The extension does not require you to create an account.
4) Data sharing
The extension does not sell, rent, or share your extension data with third parties. It does not send your saved tabs, notes, or reminders to a developer-controlled server.
5) What the extension does not collect
The extension is not designed to collect:
- Passwords or authentication credentials
- Payment or financial information
- Health information
- Personal communications (e.g., email, chat messages)
- Precise location data
6) Permissions used
The extension requests certain Chrome permissions to function:
- Storage (to save frozen items locally)
- Alarms (to schedule reminders)
- Notifications (to show reminder notifications and quick actions)
- activeTab (to access the current tab only when you click the extension)
- scripting (to read page title/URL and optional selected text only on your request)
Tab Fridge does not request host permissions and does not run automatically across websites in the background.
7) Your controls (deletion)
You can:
- Delete individual frozen items from the extension list
- Clear all saved items using the extension interface
Uninstalling the extension also removes its locally stored data.
8) Security
Your data is stored locally in your browser profile. Protecting access to your device and browser profile helps protect your saved tabs and notes. Avoid storing sensitive information in notes or saved selections.
9) Changes to this policy
If the extension’s data practices change, this Privacy Policy will be updated and the “Effective date” will be revised.
